Waypoint Centre for Self-Directed Learning is an educational alternative to school for people ages 12-19, located in Halifax, NS. We believe that every young person wants to learn and deserves an environment that: - encourages learning that is meaningful and relevant to her/him - evolves at the pace of the individual - is tailored to the person's strengths and challenges - is trusting and supportive, not coercive Waypoint replicates an organizational model that has been successful in offering a transformational educational experience to young people who need something different than the traditional school setting. We use homeschooling as a legal mechanism to help kids leave unproductive school situations and craft their own personalized life of learning. How we are different: - Open four days per week - Optional classes, workshops, tutorials and field trips - Weekly meetings with adviser - Regular family meetings - Positive and safe peer community - Connections to real world learning opportunities such as events, workshops, internships, volunteer roles and job - We work with all families regardless of their financial situation

Our mission is to provide life-changing assistance dogs free of charge to Nova Scotians, empowering independence, safety, and emotional well-being. We offer: - autism service dogs for children - mobility service dogs for individuals with physical disabilities - facility dogs that support vulnerable communities in hospitals, courts, and other public service settings Through our programs, we strive to create inclusive communities, educate the public about the role of service dogs, and foster meaningful connections between people and dogs that enrich lives for both. Wellness Wags relies on the dedication of volunteers and the support of our community to raise, train, and place these remarkable dogs.

The Westend Community Food Bank is a volunteer operated food bank.  We are located on 3495 McAlpine Street, in the neighbourhood between the Fairview Cemetery and the West End Mall in Halifax.  We are open on Thursday mornings from 8:30 until noon and have between 70 and 90 clients who we distribute food to each week.

The tents will be fitted with fixtures that keep the spirit of the 21st century close, yet distant to allow for a relaxing getaway. Wilderness Stays Limited campground will feature stone pathways, walking trails, community activities, tents, tipis, rocket mass heaters, and beautiful variations of furniture.
