Through music lessons, group classes, choirs, orchestras, concerts, and community events, we foster creativity, inclusivity, and community connection.About the RoleWe're looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to help bring our events to life!As an Events Support Volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to assist with a variety of events, including concerts, theatre performances, choir and orchestra presentations, fundraising activities, and other community arts events.No previous experience is required! The Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia (BIANS) is currently seeking 3–4 new volunteer members to join our Board of Directors.BIANS is a registered charitable organization that has supported individuals and families affected by acquired brain injury (ABI) since 1989. We work across Nova Scotia to strengthen connection, support, and understanding for people living with brain injury and their caregivers, while helping communities and systems respond more effectively.We are looking for individuals who are interested in community impact, governance, and supporting people and families affected by brain injury. We welcome individuals with a range of professional and lived experiences, including expertise in areas such as:Finance and accountingFundraising and philanthropyGovernance and nonprofit leadershipHuman resourcesCommunications and marketingLegal or business experienceAcquired brain injury, disability, caregiving, or community servicesBoard CommitmentBoard members serve a two-year renewable term and are expected to participate in approximately nine board meetings per year, with most meetings held virtually. The estimated commitment is approximately 2–5 hours per month, depending on board and committee involvement.This is a volunteer position. Phin Performing Arts is looking for compassionate volunteers to support our Dance to Move program - dance classes for people living with Parkinson’s. The classes include people with Parkinson’s of all ages and mobility. The role of the volunteer is to do the class with the participants, providing light support to folks who need an assist for sit-to-stand, someone nearby or on their arm for balance, or other class support (details to be provided by the instructor each week). Requirements are:1) a sincere desire to help folks have a joyous and successful experience in the class2) friendly and compassionate demeanour3) two referencesClasses are Friday mornings at 10 am at St. Peter’s Church (3 Dakin Drive), and Friday afternoons at 1:30 pm at All Nations Church (2535 Robie Street).
