We provide shelter, essential items and technical assistance to help some of the world’s most vulnerable people recover and rebuild their homes after disaster. We listen and adapt our support to the needs of each community, working together with those affected by disaster, alongside our supporters and partners. ShelterBox teams work with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives. Every disaster is different and so is every community, so we spend time with those affected to make sure we can offer the right support at the right time to help them recover. See how we work. The Jua Centre is a non-profit organization based with a presence in Ottawa that empowers Black girls and young women aged 8-18. It focuses on building leadership, environmental literacy, and green skills in sustainability. Youth Empowerment: Connects African, Caribbean, and Black youth to STEM, climate action, and community leadership. Workshops: Offers interactive, youth-friendly educational sessions focusing on climate literacy and problem-solving. Operations: Operates with remote and hybrid involvement based out of the Ottawa region.

Lake & Shore Community Recreation Society manages the municipal-owned recreation centre located at Inspiration Drive, Porters Lake. The Centre provides recreation, sport, cultural and social activities for the Eastern Shore region in a beautiful facility.

At Hockey Helps the Homeless we leverage Canada’s affinity for hockey to raise awareness and financial support for the homeless through education, fundraising, and by partnering with solutions-based local homeless support agencies.

ElderDog Canada Inc. is a registered, national charity dedicated to ageing people, ageing dogs, and the important connection they enjoy.   The organization is based in Nova Scotia with chapters in HRM.   Volunteers support seniors and their dogs with: (1) in-home support for those struggling with dog walking, feeding, helping take dogs to groomer or vet, help giving veterinary medications, etc; (2) securing temporary or forever homes for dogs in times of a senior's illness, hospitalization, or other life event, and (3) education to the broader community about the positive impacts of the senior-dog bond.
