Arthur Kidston Memorial Camp

As an accredited member of the Camping Association of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island (CANSPEI) and The United Church of Canada, Camp Kidston has been building meaningful outdoor experiences for children and youth for more than 55 years!

Founded in 1966, Kidston is located on over 460 acres of woods and water in the northeast corner of Halifax Regional Municipality - and it is the ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life!

At Camp Kidston, we are committed to creating a just, nurturing environment in which all are fully free to be themselves. We welcome and honour the beautiful diversity of all people reflected in race, colour, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression.

A week of summer camp at Camp Kidston allows children and youth to develop new friendships, independence, and leadership skills through:

Camp Kidston

Camp Kidston, established in 1964 by the Halifax Presbytery of the United Church of Canada, is a year-round facility located on Long Lake. The facility is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors. We have been offering summer camps for children aged 6-17 since 1966. Situated on over 500 acres of woods and water in the northeast corner of Halifax Regional Municipality, it is the ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life!

<p>The Canada Games Centre was built as the legacy of the 2011 Winter Canada Games. In February of 2011, the Centre hosted the badminton, syncronised swimming and artistic gymnastics events.</p>
<p>The Canada Games Centre is now a community recreation centre open to the public. We’re a privately operated facility run by a non-profit society that seeks to promote fitness and wellness in our community. The Centre runs recreation programs, camps, fitness classes and much more.</p>

<p>As one of the showcase venues for the 2011 Canada Winter Games, the Canada Games Centre is a vibrant and lasting legacy of this National event. We walk on Trailways, trails  along the coasts, and rivers, and in forests, and wilderness areas. Our walks are usually 10 KM in length but sometimes longer.
