About Us The Human Connection Club is a growing community initiative based in Halifax that creates warm, inclusive spaces for people to feel seen, valued, and connected. Through creative social events, reflective activities, and guided conversations, we bring people together in a world where loneliness is common and authentic connection is rare. Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking thoughtful, grounded, and collaborative individuals who believe in the power of community. You’re someone who: - Values empathy, kindness, and human-centered leadership - Believes in meaningful connection, creativity, and social impact - Brings stability, professionalism, and integrity - Can offer guidance - Is excited to help a young, visionary initiative grow with intention Experience in non-profit governance, community development, social impact, mental health, facilitation, event planning, financial management, or legal support is an asset — but what matters most is alignment with our mission and values. Role & Responsibilities As a founding Board Director, you will help shape the foundation of the Human Connection Club. Responsibilities may include: - Providing strategic guidance as HCC formalizes as a non-profit society - Supporting the development of governance, structure, and policies - Attending quarterly board meetings (virtually or in-person) - Offering insight in your area of expertise (finance, operations, community, events, mental health, etc.) - Helping ensure the organization stays aligned with its mission and values - Encouraging an environment of compassion, creativity, and collaboration Commitment - Approximately 3–5 hours per month - 1-year volunteer term, with the option to renew - Flexible and supportive environment — we honor boundaries, balance, and wellbeing What You’ll Be Part Of Joining HCC means joining a movement. You’ll help create: - Community events that reduce loneliness and isolation - Spaces where people feel seen, heard, and connected - A future non-profit that may expand across cities and inspire global impact Your leadership will help shape an organization that is heart-led, human-centered, and built on genuine connection.
