Pathway to Progress Nicaragua is dedicated to supporting an innovative program in Nicaragua that provides educational opportunities for Nicaragua's most vulnerable sector: children and youth living in poverty. Over 95% of the money that P2P raises goes directly to spending on this program in Nicaragua. We are giving students the chance for real academic success, and families living in poverty the hope of a better future for their children.Our deepest hope for all of them is that they will grow into responsible well-informed adults who can make a positive contribution to their country.

Pathways to Education Spryfield reduces poverty and its effects by lowering the drop out rate among high school students from economically disadvantaged communities. Pathways works to increase high school graduation rates and help youth pursue post-secondary education and/or find meaningful employment. Pathways to Education is hosted through Chebucto Connections.

Based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, Phin Performing Arts is a contemporary dance performance company dedicated to creating moving dance and multi-disciplinary works for the stage, and providing immersive and educational experiences in movement arts including classes for people living with Parkinson's and their care partners.

Phoenix has been helping youth, families and the community thrive since 1987. We provide care and opportunities for individuals, and create conditions where they can thrive and bring those qualities to their full potential. We are dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of youth in a respectful, dignified, and innovative manner, while also being a voce of social justice in their lives. Our programs can now be captures in three important areas: Crises Management (emergency shelter, health services, counselling, drop-in centre), Community based Prevention (clinical therapy, outreach and community development) and Housing and Employment Skills (employment and education, parent support, trustee program, recreation and arts, independent and semi-independent housing).  

Hockey Night in Canada's Play On! is Canada's largest sports festival, and we are looking for volunteers just like you this June 16th to 19th on the Halifax Common! It's the ultimate summer street hockey experience, and you can be a part of it as a Play On! Halifax Volunteer! Since the program's inception in 2003, over two million people have participated in one of the 144 Play On! events held to date. The 2016 Halifax event is expecting 600 teams playing on 55 Rinks with 4,400 players and up to 20,000 spectators and we need YOU as a Play On! Halifax Volunteer! Prescott Group is a non-profit community based social enterprise that offers vocational opportunities, programs and services and community employment support to adults with intellectual disabilities in the Halifax area. Prescott Group's social enterprise is made up of Atlantic Bag Manufacturers, Fireside Kitchen and Prescott Mailing Services. Prescott Group also provides coaching and support to clients who work at local businesses and organizations. Our goal is to enhance the independence of persons with intellectual disabilities through personal development, social enterprise and employment opportunities.

We provide entrepreneurship training for veterans and transitioning Canadian Armed Forces members, help young people reach their potential through employability programs, and support Indigenous communities as they revitalize and protect their languages. Prince’s Trust Canada is a registered Canadian charity established by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales in 2011. The Do it for Dads Walk Run 5KM is a fun, family-friendly event, hosted on Father’s Day, that raises awareness and funds for the leading cancer affecting Canadian men and the families that love them. Registration: $35 or fundraise $125 and waive your registration fee. Your donor dollars are having an impact on research that has the greatest potential to improve prostate cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment to ensure a better quality of life for survivors.

Prostate Cancer Canada is the only national foundation dedicated to the elimination of the disease through research, education support and awareness. Our goals are twofold – to fund research that will uncover better diagnostic and treatment options and to provide comprehensive support services for those living with prostate cancer. In 1994 Ron Evason founded the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Canada. Diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1993, he realized that there was little, if any, high caliber research being done for the disease. The Foundation’s mission was to support research into the cause, cure, and prevention of prostate cancer. The Foundation worked tirelessly with professionals and organizations to advance the prostate cancer cause. A 1997 National Prostate Cancer Forum brought together 150 stakeholders to develop direction for future research, communication, and advocacy activities. The Foundation continued to move forward on forum recommendations by participating in the Prostate Cancer Alliance of Canada. In July 1999, the Foundation merged with the Canadian Prostate Cancer Research Fund, to become the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada. Since then, the Foundation has become one of Canada's foremost organizations dedicated solely to raising funds for research to eliminate prostate cancer. In May 2009, after ten years of successful fundraising and research efforts, the Foundation re-branded itself from the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada to Prostate Cancer Canada. VISION Prostate Cancer Canada’s vision is to be a global leader in the fight against prostate cancer, earning the enthusiasm and support of Canadians through integrity, compassion, and innovation. MISSION Prostate Cancer Canada raises funds for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer. What you should know Prostate Cancer Canada is the only national foundation dedicated to the elimination of this disease through research, education, support and awareness. The threat of prostate cancer for men is far greater than is commonly known. During his lifetime, 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with the disease, and this is expected to rise to 1 in 4 within a decade. We believe that to win this battle, a focused national approach in the fight against prostate cancer is needed. In areas such as support, prevention and early detection, we will involve men, women and young people, making them all more aware of the impact of this disease.
