The Jua Centre is a non-profit organization based with a presence in Ottawa that empowers Black girls and young women aged 8-18. It focuses on building leadership, environmental literacy, and green skills in sustainability. Youth Empowerment: Connects African, Caribbean, and Black youth to STEM, climate action, and community leadership. Workshops: Offers interactive, youth-friendly educational sessions focusing on climate literacy and problem-solving. Operations: Operates with remote and hybrid involvement based out of the Ottawa region.

We provide shelter, essential items and technical assistance to help some of the world’s most vulnerable people recover and rebuild their homes after disaster. We listen and adapt our support to the needs of each community, working together with those affected by disaster, alongside our supporters and partners. ShelterBox teams work with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives. Every disaster is different and so is every community, so we spend time with those affected to make sure we can offer the right support at the right time to help them recover. See how we work. Welcome to CIAD—Canadian Intervention and Assistance Dogs Society.  In Gaelic, CIAD means “primary” or “first”.  We felt that this name truly reflects our training school on a number of levels….first; we are a new school in Nova Scotia offering intervention and assistance dog training.  Secondly, we are focusing on providing assistance (service) dogs to first responders who have sustained post-traumatic stress injuries (PTSI) that are either cumulative (long-term over their career) or incidental (a specific event). We are an incorporated not-for-profit society and operate following the Societies Act of Nova Scotia. Follow along with us as we grow and consider becoming one of our supporters!  There are many ways that you can help CIAD grow…by donating your time, talents or financial contributions to help us reach our goal of pairing service dogs with first responders.

In the simplest terms, a Community Health Board is the eyes, ears, and voice for the community’s health. Together with other groups, the Board engages community members in understanding the community health needs and then supports many different community initiatives that aim to improve health in the local community.

Hello! We voluntarily manage the beautiful Musquodoboit Trailways in Musquodoboit Harbour, and we enjoy seeing the happy puppies on the trail.
