Opportunity Description

Phin Performing Arts is looking for compassionate volunteers to support our Dance to Move program - dance classes for people living with Parkinson’s. The class comprises people with Parkinson’s of all ages and mobility along with their care partners. The role of the volunteer is to do the class with the participants, providing light support to folks who need an assit for sit-to-stand, someone nearby or on their arm for balance, or other support for the class (details to be provided by the instructor each week). Requirements are:

1) a sincere desire to help folks have a joyous and successful experience in the class

2) friendly and compassionate demeanour

3) recent Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector check (< 2 years)

4) two references

Classes are Friday mornings (Bedford Hwy at Kearney Lake Rd), and Friday afternoons (Robie St at Charles St).
