The Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia (BIANS) is currently seeking 3–4 new volunteer members to join our Board of Directors.BIANS is a registered charitable organization that has supported individuals and families affected by acquired brain injury (ABI) since 1989. We work across Nova Scotia to strengthen connection, support, and understanding for people living with brain injury and their caregivers, while helping communities and systems respond more effectively.We are looking for individuals who are interested in community impact, governance, and supporting people and families affected by brain injury. We welcome individuals with a range of professional and lived experiences, including expertise in areas such as:Finance and accountingFundraising and philanthropyGovernance and nonprofit leadershipHuman resourcesCommunications and marketingLegal or business experienceAcquired brain injury, disability, caregiving, or community servicesBoard CommitmentBoard members serve a two-year renewable term and are expected to participate in approximately nine board meetings per year, with most meetings held virtually. Halifax Cycling Coalition is looking for volunteers to help tell our story, translating our advocacy work and organizational activities into content people can actually understand and engage with. This spans social media, newsletter content, and general promotion of our events and campaigns, as well as media relations across print, radio, and TV. A great fit for anyone who enjoys writing, storytelling, or community engagement and wants to help grow HCC's reach and public understanding across Halifax.

Halifax Cycling Coalition is looking for volunteers to support our events throughout the year, including I Light HFX, bike rides, and workshops. Roles vary by event and can include setup, marshalling, tabling, and general day-of support. Great for anyone who enjoys being hands-on and wants to help build a stronger cycling community in Halifax.No prior experience needed. Join Canada Connects• Be matched with a newcomer individual or family to provide support throughout the program• Meet with your match once a week for approximately 2 hours, with a commitment of 3 months to 1 year• Share your knowledge, build meaningful connections, and help newcomers settle into life in Canada• Join a network of dedicated volunteers and connect with others making a differenceEligibility: Volunteers must demonstrate English proficiency above CLB 4 and have lived in Nova Scotia for a minimum of 18 months.
