The Community Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in building awareness, engagement, and participation for the Terry Fox Run in Halifax. This volunteer position is ideal for someone who is passionate about community building, enjoys connecting with people, and wants to support cancer research in a meaningful way.Becoming a Terry Fox volunteer is an incredibly rewarding experience, not only will you be directly responsible for sharing Terry’s message of hope, courage and determination, you will be giving back to your community. Our Terry Fox Runs are 100% volunteer run, so we are always on the lookout for passionate Terry Foxers to help us.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate on Outreach Strategy:Work with the organizing team to develop and implement a community outreach planIdentify opportunities to expand the Run’s reach across Halifax and surrounding areasCommunity Presence & Event Engagement:Represent the Terry Fox Run at local events, markets, and community boothsEngage with the public to share the Terry Fox story and inspire participationPromote the Run and sell Terry Fox merchandise at outreach eventsPartnerships & Relationship Building:Connect with local businesses and community groups to encourage team participation and supportFoster relationships that strengthen community involvement and long-term engagementHelp recruit new participants and volunteers through outreach effortsEmail us at ns@terryfox.org if you are interested!

Spencer House Seniors Centre in Halifax is offering a new volunteer opportunity through our MedPal Pilot Program. Funded through the NS Health Community Health Boards Wellness Fund, the program matches volunteer notetakers with seniors to help them prepare for and attend medical appointments.
