The IWK Foundation is looking for volunteers at the Mercy Dance Competition which will run from May 14 to May 17 at Lighthouse Arts Centre. **Competition runs 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., however we only attend for the peak hours of competition as well as coordinate volunteers to assist. Approximate schedule below:Thursday, May 14th: 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.Friday, May 15th: 5 p.m. -8 p.m. Saturday, May 16th: 12 p.m.-3 p.m. and 6p.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17th: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.During the shift, the job is to greet/say hi to people and promote the dance marathon program at our table that is set up in the lobby of the competition.Dance Marathon is a one-size-fits-all program that encourages holding movement focused events to raise funds for children’s hospitals. This can be anything from a dance party or class, an exercise class or an ongoing digital fundraiser. Join the Halifax Cycling Coalition and help run our bike valet service at the Bluenose Marathon! We rely on volunteers to help get food onto the tables of those in Halifax who are unable to prepare nutritious meals for themselves.Do you have 2-3 hours per week to help us in our mission? We are looking for drivers and runners on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday mornings for deliveries. Choose a weekly route, or substitute on an on call basis.You can even try us on by accompanying an experienced team on a run before you start.

The 2026 Halifax MS Walk is taking place Sunday, May 31st at 2:00 PM at Acadia Park. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help us bring this event to life! MS Walk is a one-day event held at over 50 locations across Canada, bringing together people impacted by multiple sclerosis. On May 31st, gather your friends, family, and coworkers for a day of meaningful action. There are various areas where volunteer help is needed to ensure that this event runs smoothly and participants have a great experience. Volunteer opportunities include: Event Set-Up & Wrap-Up Participant/Volunteer Check-In Checkpoint Attendants Food & Beverage Area Route Marshals Start/Finish Line Cheer Squad *Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
