Peer Mentor with Eating Disorders NS

Description: Eating Disorders Nova Scotia believes that no one should have to face an eating disorder alone.  We currently offer a range of resources and supports across Nova Scotia, including online chat, online and in-person peer support groups, family peer support groups, and mentoring. Our team of peer mentors draw upon their experience with recovery to support others on their recovery journey, offering non-judgemental support and encouragement. Mentors complete 30+ hours of training, and take part on ongoing development and training. Each mentor is matched with someone seeking support in their recovery. Most mentors meet with their "mentee" a few times a month, either by phone, video-chat, or in person. Meet the Craft Community! Be a Door Greeter at the Halifax Crafters Society Winter Market

Description: Halifax Crafters is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization with a mandate to encourage new artists and local art making. Each year we organize two shows, one in the spring and one before the Christmas holidays. Our carefully curated and unique market is a place where established and emerging Crafters show their work side by side. We are looking for Door Greeters - shifts are 2 hours each, and volunteers are always paired with at least one other person. Description: Out of The Cold Shelter is an emergency winter shelter looking to recruit volunteers for the 2019-2020 season. We hope to open our doors in December and to do that we need people like you! When you join Out of The Cold Shelter (OTCS) you'll be joining a compassionate, inclusive, hard working team. OTCS is going into it's 12th year of serving the community. We are typically based out of downtown Halifax and provide an evening drop-in/warming center, and overnight refuge to people who are homeless and precariously housed in our community. Past volunteers have said this has been one of the most rewarding experiences in their lives. We are looking for volunteers for front-line evening, overnight, and morning shifts, daytime assistance, preparing meals, transporting laundry or groceries, and much more. We have opportunities to volunteer 24/7, including holidays. We are asking volunteers to commit to a regular weekly or biweekly shift, since we run from December until the end of April. If you, your friends, coworkers, or students want to volunteer as a group, no problem! We are open and flexible to working with any schedule.
