Red Bear Healing Home is a non-profit society registered with the Province of Nova Scotia (June 23, 2011). Red Bear Healing Home is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director.

Dalhousie University has two research ethics boards that are responsible to review the ethical acceptability of research involving humans conducted by University faculty, students and others: the Health Sciences Research Ethics Board and the Social Sciences Research Ethics Board.
The Resilience Research Centre studies resilience from all aspects.
"In the context of exposure to significant adversity, resilience is both the capacity of individuals to navigate their way to the psychological, social, cultural, and physical resources that sustain their well-being, and their capacity individually and collectively to negotiate for these resources to be provided in culturally meaningful ways." (Ungar, 2008 and Ungar, 2011)
The Resource Opportunities Centre is a non-profit, community development organization serving the communities along Route 333, from Goodwood to Dover. In 2010 the ROC was named the volunteer management organization of the new Prospect Road Community Centre located at 2141 Prospect Road in Hatchet Lake. The Centre is operated via lease agreement with the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Results is a nonprofit advocacyĀ organization of passionate staff and volunteers committed to generating theĀ political will to end extreme poverty in low- and middle-income countries. Ride for Cancer powered by BMO Bank of MontrealĀ is the largest cycling fundraising event in Atlantic Canada. Participants, inclusive to veteran cyclists, recreational and rookie riders, ride their choice of distance options via the Rum Runners Trail or by the road.
Ripple Foundation is a charitable organization that aims to empower the next generation of leaders by fostering creativity and cultivating a passion for reading and writing in youth across Canada. By advocating for creativity and education in youth through our specially developed literacy programs, we are teaching Canadian youth the benefits of creativity in their current and future lives, helping to shape the leaders of tomorrow. Ronald McDonald House is a āhome-away-from-homeā for out of town families with sick children receiving vital medical treatment in Halifax. Our warm, welcoming and affordable accommodations help ease the heavy financial and emotional burdens placed on the hundreds of families who come through our doors each year.
Ronald McDonald House CharitiesĀ®Ā (RMHCĀ®) Atlantic helps families with ill or injured children stay together and near the medical care they need.
Our programs include Ronald McDonald HouseĀ®, a āhome away from homeā for out-of-town families with sick children, and two Ronald McDonald Family RoomĀ®Ā Programs, offering an oasis of calm and support inside the hospital.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlantic is a non-profit organization. We depend upon charitable donations and volunteer support from many individuals, corporations and foundations to fulfill our mission. We receive no operational funding from the government.
The Rotary Club of Halifax North West is part of Rotary International, an organization of 1.2 million people in 33,000 Clubs, in over 200 countries around the world. The focus of our Club is support of charitable causes serving youth and the elderly and persons at risk. Locally, our support is focused on the Spryfield area in Halifax, but our Club is also involved in international projects which support the global community. Our main source of funding is a 50/50 draw in Spryfield called Toonies for Change, in which participants register a player number and play a Toonie a week. The project is very well supported by the community in the form of volunteers who devote their time each week in the operation of the project. That said, there is a need for part-time managerial and administrative support.
A member club of Rotary International. We serve our community and assist were we can world wide. We believe our youth is a key to future peace and understanding among all peoples of the world. Join as a member, participate in our fundraising, or propose community projects for consideration. We are a conduit that can help you turn your dreams into action.
