About NECHC
The North End Community Health Centre (NECHC) was established in 1971 in response to an absence of primary health care and other health services in Halifax’s North End. Located on Gottingen Street, we are in the heart of a unique and culturally diverse community. Today, governed by a board of directors, the NECHC is viewed by area residents as a “beacon of hope” in the community. Much more than a Primary Care Clinic, the NECHC has expanded in response to unmet needs of community members and is highly-valued by its patients and clients and their families. NECHC provides services to those living on the margins of society, through MOSH, Housing First and a wide range of community outreach initiatives.

Our Vision
People living life to the fullest, flourishing in a community of belonging, dignity and choice.
Our Mission
As a leader in continuing care, we build meaningful relationships with our clients everyday and make a positive difference in the communities we serve.
Northwood began in 1962 as a social movement in response to the plight of seniors living alone in Halifax. What emerged was a shared belief that people, committed to an ideal, could make a difference in the world. Since its inception, Northwood has become a powerful voice for seniors in Nova Scotia, demanding a new approach to aging in place.
Today, we are the largest not-for-profit continuing care organization in Atlantic Canada, but what does this mean for you? It means that Northwood is a place of “firsts.” When life changes, and society changes, Northwood leads the way, incorporating revolutionary designed, responsive care. From new ideas to new technologies, we are empowered to do this, because our focus is on people, not on profit margins.
We have led the way for over 55 years as Nova Scotia’s dynamic continuing care organization committed to innovation and change. We are recognized both here at home and across Canada as an extraordinary example of the power of social justice, but we like to call it the power of love!
Northwood Bedford is a not-for-profit continuing care organization and is home to more than 150 residents.
At Nourish, we are on a mission to inspire every child in Nova Scotia to eat, enjoy, and value food that fuels healthier people and a healthier environment. From growing school food programs and developing resources, to engaging producers and influencing policy, we are activating our champions through awareness, education and advocacy.
Everyone in Nova Scotia deserves a healthy future. Empowering young people to choose healthy food for themselves and the environment is key. Join us in supporting youth who are igniting this change.
The Nova Multifest Society was established to support and celebrate our province’s rich tapestry of culture and diversity.
Drawing inspiration from prominent Canadians, and building on Canada’s vision to be a progressive multicultural nation, our goal is to bring communities together by supporting diversity, inclusion, tolerance and positivity.
Alderney Landing in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is home to our annual Multifest celebration, an energetic festival of culture and diversity.  The Festival includes representation from Nova Scotia’s many cultures in the form of music, art, displays and lots of delicacies native to each culture.
As a society we want to support diversity in communities throughout the province. Â We offer our experience and support to communities looking to establish a multicultural festival in their city or town.
By understanding and appreciation our cultural diversity we grow together as a province, opening doors for future generations.
