Opportunity Description
The IWK Foundation is looking for volunteers at the Mercy Dance Competition which will run from May 14 to May 17 at
Lighthouse Arts Centre.
**Competition runs 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., however we only attend for the peak hours of competition as well as coordinate volunteers to assist.
Approximate schedule below:
Thursday, May 14th: 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday, May 15th: 5 p.m. -8 p.m.
Saturday, May 16th: 12 p.m.-3 p.m. and 6p.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday, May 17th: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
During the shift, the job is to greet/say hi to people and promote the dance marathon program at our table that is set up in the lobby of the competition.
Dance Marathon is a one-size-fits-all program that encourages holding movement focused events to raise funds for children’s hospitals. This can be anything from a dance party or class, an exercise class or an ongoing digital fundraiser.
