The 2026 Halifax MS Walk is taking place Sunday, May 31st at 2:00 PM at Acadia Park. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help us bring this event to life! MS Walk is a one-day event held at over 50 locations across Canada, bringing together people impacted by multiple sclerosis. On May 31st, gather your friends, family, and coworkers for a day of meaningful action. There are various areas where volunteer help is needed to ensure that this event runs smoothly and participants have a great experience. Volunteer opportunities include: Event Set-Up & Wrap-Up Participant/Volunteer Check-In Checkpoint Attendants Food & Beverage Area Route Marshals Start/Finish Line Cheer Squad *Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Catapult is a world-class program designed to give youth a life-changing opportunity to discover their potential, take charge of their lives and become empowered to make a difference. The program is a combination of inspiring presentations and exciting activities set in an atmosphere of fun and friendship. Our leadership program is offered absolutely free to 50 Nova Scotia students entering Grade 10 in September who have been nominated by their school because they have natural leadership qualities and the potential to become strong leaders but who would not normally have access to this type of opportunity due to circumstance such as economics, loss of family, geographic isolation, racial barriers, etc.We are currently looking for camp counselors. Our camp counselors are volunteer mentors who become role models to the youth in our program. They work both independently and as a team to provide a stable, positive and often life-changing experience for our youth. This is a volunteer position – meals, accommodations and supplies are covered by Catapult and there is an honourarium of $800.Catapult Camp – Monday, August 10 – Wednesday, August 19, 2026. (2 days of training Aug 10/11) At Camp Counselors are expected to:· Actively participate during on-site training before camp begins· Work cooperatively with the staff team to create a memorable experience· Help with both set up and tear down of camp· Get to know all campers and encourage timid campers to participate· Participate in daily staff meetings· Assist teaching resources as needed and actively participate in programming· Monitor youth wakeups and curfews· Provide general supervision and discipline· Facilitate free time options· Moderate daily Family Shares

East Coast Roast 2026Position OverviewThe East Coast Roast is Arthritis Society Canada’s signature fundraising event, bringing communities together to support those living with arthritis. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support event logistics, guest experience, and on-site activities to ensure a smooth and memorable evening. Time CommitmentEvent Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026  Event Time: Evening event (exact timing TBD)  Volunteer Shifts: Full shifts only: approximately 6–8 hours  Anticipated shifts include: 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.  6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.  We are seeking approximately 6 volunteers for this event. Arthritis Society Canada staff will be on-site, along with experienced event support.Light lifting may be required  Seating is available throughout the shift as needed.  Location Halifax Convention Centre  1650 Argyle Street, Halifax, NS  (Exact ballroom location to be confirmed)  Key Areas of Responsibility Volunteers may assist in one or more of the following areas throughout their shift:  Guest Support & Event Flow  Greet guests and assist with event navigation  Respond to general guest inquiries (washrooms, seating, coat check)  Event Support & Sales Processing  Support raffle ticket sales and fundraising activities  Assist with pledge collection and fundraising tracking  Communicate totals to staff or AV as required  On-Site Engagement  Support interactive elements, including a potential event booth or activation  Assist with setup, monitoring, and wrap-up of activity areas  Desired Skills & Attributes Friendly, professional, and guest-focused  Comfortable interacting with the public  Flexible and willing to assist where needed  Able to remain on-site for the duration of a full shift  Benefits Support a meaningful cause benefiting Canadians living with arthritis  Gain hands-on event experience  Network with community members and professionals  Receive a letter of reference upon successful completion  Major Contacts An Arthritis Society Canada staff member will oversee your role and be your main point of contact.
