GLOCAL is a not-for-profit organization that promotes digital civic engagement through local participation and global understanding in Canada. We seek to promote digital citizenship, youth engagement, information accessibility and civic knowledge mobilization in Canada. Our digital initiatives and community outreach strive to improve the infrastructure and accessibility of public information in an effort to combat misinformation, information overload, and low-information rationality in the digital age.

At Girl Guides of Canada, girls from 5-17 meet with girls their own age in a safe, inclusive space to discover themselves, have fun, make friends and develop life skills. OUR VISION IS TO CREATE A VIBRANT DOWNTOWN DARTMOUTH ARTS COMMUNITY BY CREATING OPPORTUNITIES TO SHOWCASE QUALITY WORK AND PROMOTE LOCAL TALENTS. ORIGINALLY FOUNDED IN 2014, OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE CRAFT SHOWS WHERE ARTISTS, CRAFTERS AND MAKERS CAN MARKET AND SELL THEIR WORK.

Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7 e-mental health service offering free, confidential support to young people in English and French. The challenges facing young people in Canada have grown more complex, and youth need access to the supports that are most relevant to them. To achieve our vision, it’s critical that we meet these challenges — and quickly. Kids Help Phone has been accredited since 2013 by Imagine Canada’s Standards Program for excellence in the charitable sector in five key areas: - financial accountability and transparency - fundraising - staff management - volunteer involvement - board governance Kids Help Phone has a pioneering history of creating innovative supports for critical issues young people face. We began in 1989 as a unique telephone counselling service, launched to provide free, accessible support to any young person reaching out from coast to coast to coast. Our focus was supporting young people experiencing abuse, but almost immediately, young people let us know they needed more from the service than one focus and one way to reach us. For over 30 years, we’ve evolved our response and offerings. We concentrate on staying relevant to youth, recognizing the complexity of issues they face, and we help to ensure our professional counsellors and volunteer crisis responders are ready to address young people’s continuum of emotional and mental health needs, from crisis situations to the everyday concerns of growing up.

Nova Multifest Society is a local, non-profit organization created to promote cultural organizations throughout the province and bring communities together by supporting diversity, inclusion, tolerance and positivity. Every summer, we host a multicultural festival, Nova Multifest, to celebrate Nova Scotia’s rich tapestry of culture and diversity. The festival features live music and dance performances, craft exhibits, activities and delicious cuisine from around the world.

Take a Pain Check Foundation is a Canadian registered, international youth-led community and non-profit organization founded in self-advocacy to empower youth with rheumatic diseases. They host bi-weekly podcasts, run ambassador programs for health professionals and youth, pilot rheumatic-related events, feature stories on their blog platform and lead monthly Joint Chat Rheum hangouts. Our Mission:  Take a Pain Check’s aims to empower youth and young adults impacted by rheumatic disease to advocate for themselves and to create a supportive, safe, and inclusive community where individuals feel understood. ​Our Vision: Through this youth led initiative our vision is that all youth and young adults feel supported in their journey with rheumatic illness.

We are a non-profit organization that is on a mission to document and record the history of the Pride Movement in Canada and educate all Canadians on the impact the Pride Movement has had on our gender, sexual, and relationship diverse community.

Happy at Home Halifax, in collaboration with Spencer House Senior Centre and Chebucto Links, provides seniors with practical supports to help them live independently at home. A primarily volunteer based initiative offering free delivery of essential items. Our Outreach Coordinator is available to help seniors and their support systems, navigate the many programs and services available and find one that assists them to live happier, safer lives, while aging well at home.

The Rotary Club of Halifax Harbour is hosting its ninth annual Harbourside Ribfest at Alderney Landing. Harbourside RibFest is proudly 100% run by volunteers and serves as a vital community fundraiser. We rely on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals and groups like you to bring our festival to life. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to great causes while being part of an exciting community event. This year's festivity will feature a diverse selection of five rib trucks alongside vibrant local vendors, set to attract thousands of attendees.
