Nova Multifest Society is a local, non-profit organization created to promote cultural organizations throughout the province and bring communities together by supporting diversity, inclusion, tolerance and positivity. Every summer, we host a multicultural festival, Nova Multifest, to celebrate Nova Scotia’s rich tapestry of culture and diversity. The festival features live music and dance performances, craft exhibits, activities and delicious cuisine from around the world.

Self-Help Connection is a registered charity that provides mental health services through support and education.

We are a non profit organization whose main goal is to sponsor refugees to come to Nova Scotia and support refugees their settlement in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The organization run by volunteers. We are looking for volunteers to work in various positions such as: project management, program coordinator, administration work (virtual), settlement support persons,  social marketing/computer science person  (being a main contact person with our website developer and maintaining our FB page and creating and maintaining Twit & other social media accounts). All the work will be done virtually.

The Rotary Club of Halifax Harbour is hosting its ninth annual Harbourside Ribfest at Alderney Landing. Harbourside RibFest is proudly 100% run by volunteers and serves as a vital community fundraiser. We rely on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals and groups like you to bring our festival to life. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to great causes while being part of an exciting community event. This year's festivity will feature a diverse selection of five rib trucks alongside vibrant local vendors, set to attract thousands of attendees. Our event not only offers a delightful culinary experience but also serves a greater purpose, with all proceeds being channeled into supporting numerous local and international charities through the Rotary Club's efforts.

The Medavie Blue Nose Marathon is the largest annual running and walking event in Atlantic Canada! Known as “The People's Marathon,” the Blue Nose Marathon welcomes participants of all ages, abilities and fitness levels to celebrate healthy living and active lifestyles. Blue Nose Marathon is a community based and volunteer-driven organization. How it began: Legend has it, back in the age of sail when the sea was at the core of our existence, mariners would arrive in the port of Halifax with noses stained blue by the dye of their peacoat sleeves – the perfect substitute for a handkerchief. It is in their name we run: Blue Nose. It began with a dream – that Halifax have its own annual marathon. Realizing that there were many races around the world, we came up with a unique idea. Our marathon would be part of a weekend of events promoting and celebrating healthy living and active lifestyles. As well, we would encourage everyone in our community and beyond to get involved as a volunteer, sponsor, spectator, or participant, be it as a runner, walker, or Nordic walker. With the help of more than 1,000 volunteers, there are six running events (5KM, 10KM, 21.1KM , 42.2KM, team relay, youth run-4KM and 2KM) taking place during the Victoria Day weekend. There is also an Active Living Expo that spans two days with more than 80 booths. The Giv’er Charity Challenge has grown to over 80 charities that collectively have raised over $500,000.
