Opportunity Description
We are a Food Bank looking for a volunteer every second Thursday from 8:00 AM until noon. We are not open any other times and therefore do not need a volunteer outside of these hours.
As part of our team. you will be responsible for greeting the clients as they come up to the Food Bank door and handing them pre-bagged groceries. You will be one of 4 or 5 volunteers working at that time. You will help with setup before the door opens at 8:30 AM and with clean up after the Food Bank closes at noon. You must be able to speak in English, and other languages are appreciated.

The Westend Community Food Bank is a volunteer operated food bank. We are located on 3495 McAlpine Street, in the neighbourhood between the Fairview Cemetery and the West End Mall in Halifax. We are open on Thursday mornings from 8:30 until noon and have between 70 and 90 clients who we distribute food to each week.
