About Us
The Westend Community Food Bank is a volunteer operated food bank. We are located on 3495 McAlpine Street, in the neighbourhood between the Fairview Cemetery and the West End Mall in Halifax. We are open on Thursday mornings from 8:30 until noon and have approximately 125 clients who we distribute food to each week.

We are looking for a treasurer for the food bank. The role will involve completing bank reconciliations and presenting financial reports to the board each month, completing year-end financials and completing and submitting a CRA form. The board meets about 10 times a year in a board members home in Dartmouth although zoom attendance is offered if needed. We usually meet on Wednesday evenings from 7 PM until 8:30 PM. If you are interested in being part of an organization that provides support each and every week to individuals and families who are food insecure we would like to hear from you.
