Inspiring Hope and Dignity. The Brunswick Street Mission seeks to inspire a better quality of life through a ministry of care that addresses physical, emotional, practical and spiritual needs for those experiencing poverty. We serve those who struggle with poverty. Many are homeless, others are at risk of homelessness. There are individuals, couples, and families with children. Some work, others are on assistance, and others on disability or pension support. Their backgrounds are incredibly varied but they have in common that their present day is a struggle, and their future does not hold much promise.

March of Dimes Canada is a community-based rehabilitation and advocacy charity for people with physical disabilities. Our goal is to enhance the independence and community participation of people with physical disabilities every day through a wide range of programs and services across the country. We strive to create a society inclusive of people with physical disabilities, maximizing independence, personal empowerment, and community participation, providing services and programming tailored to the needs of both the individual and the community.

The CVITP is a collaboration between community organizations and the Canada Revenue Agency. This means that ideally, the organization plans and hosts the tax preparation clinics, arranges & manages volunteers and resources, and keeps taxpayer information secure. While the CRA offers guidance, arranges training for volunteers, provides tax preparation software, and operates a dedicated help line for volunteers.

We provide access to tools on site, the space to use them, and some advice about the tools and projects from our volunteers. We are a team that assists people learn, build and grow while getting their #sawdusttherapy  

Founded in 1992, ILNS is a registered charity supporting persons with disabilities through programs and services that promote Independent Living (IL). It is managed by a Board of Directors, most of whom have disabilities themselves. ILNS runs the only Independent Living Resource Centre in Nova Scotia and is one of the 25 IL organizations across Canada.

Spencer House is a unique program and community drop-in centre for older adults, located in the heart of historic Schmidtville, near the corner of Morris and Queen Streets. We offer programs and services to bring seniors together, reduce isolation and help them remain involved and living independently in their community for longer.

The Correctional Service of Canada is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of convicted adults offenders sentenced to 2 years or more.

Stepping Stone is a charitable organization that provides services and support to current and former sex workers, people at risk of entering the sex trade, and people who identify as being trafficked.

GLOCAL Foundation of Canada is a non-partisan, non-profit organization striving to empower residents in Canada to integrate a solid, creative domestic engagement with a nuanced global understanding in politics, business, academics and philanthropy. We aim to provide innovative programs and cross-sectoral resources to encourage residents in Canada to be civically aware and democratically engaged . Our team is composed of staff, consultants, advisors, and volunteers from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds who dedicate themselves in having Canadians’ voices heard and understood.

ABOUT IECC IECC is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2013 and incorporated under laws of Canada. We offer to newcomers to Canada and other members of immigrant’s community, suitable employment and settlement programs that include career development and job skills trainings, job Interview preparation, language training, referral to other resources available in the community, foreign academic credentials translation and assessment, trade and occupations ISO certification training and employment counselling. IECC also provides opportunity to new immigrants to access the computer resources and Internet connection to conduct their job searches, to enroll to online courses and to connect with potential employers for interview or any job-related online meetings. IECC is implementing all its programs in Nova Scotia, British Columbia and Alberta.  New locations will be opened in Ontario, Winnipeg and Regina before December 31, 2020. IECC has a new volunteer program to help newcomers to gain Canadian work experience and to settle in their new environments.
