Earth Rangers is an environmental non-profit that empowers youth to take action for the environment. Our ER Teens program offers an opportunity for young Canadians aged 13-18 to take initiative for environmental causes they care about, such as wildlife conservation, climate change, sustainability, and more. By working remotely with staff, teens volunteer their time to complete an eco-action project of their choice; at home, at school, in their community, or online. Our flexible program ensures that teens can work at their own pace, while having the support and resources they need to make a positive impact.

Surfrider Foundation Canada's mission is the protection and enjoyment of the ocean, beaches and waves, for all people. Surfrider focuses on clean water, plastic reduction, coasts and climate, ocean protection, and beach access.

The Marine Animal Response Society (MARS) is a conservation organization dedicated to Protecting Marine Life, Advancing Ocean Health and Empowering Communities through response, research, advocacy and engagement. Our toll-free hotline (1-866-567-6277) offers communities immediate access to expert advice on stranded, dead or distressed marine animals in the Maritime provinces. We believe that informed communities can make a difference, and through engagement we inspire people to make choices that lead to vibrant oceans. MARS relies heavily on volunteers throughout the region and provides training on species identification, data collection and response to incidents involving marine animals. MARS also provides the only internationally recognized Marine Animal Medic Course in Canada and trains professionals to support live marine mammal response.

Based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, Phin Performing Arts is a contemporary dance performance company dedicated to creating moving dance and multi-disciplinary works for the stage, and providing immersive and educational experiences in movement arts including classes for people living with Parkinson's and their care partners.

The Nova Multifest Society is dedicated to promoting and preserving art and culture through innovative initiatives, including organizing multicultural festivals, regular celebrations, and events that foster community engagement, intercultural relationships, and the preservation of traditions.

Craft Nova Scotia is the provincially recognized craft organization with a membership of over 300 individual artisans and craft enthusiasts, and represent over 1000 others through various member groups and guilds. Craft Nova Scotia is home to the Centre for Craft studios and Mary E. Black Gallery.

The East Coast Ukrainian Association is a registered non-profit organization in Halifax, NS. WHO WE ARE We advance Ukrainian cultural presence and contribute to the diversity of Nova Scotia’s cultural landscape through establishing annual cultural events such as the East Coast Ukrainian Festival, Ukrainian Christmas Market, Ukrainian Easter Market, and charitable concerts. We bring our community together by providing opportunities to participate in both organizing and attending these events. OUR VALUES On a volunteer and non-profit basis, the objective/s of the society is/are: To support, promote, and share Ukrainian culture in the Province of Nova Scotia by organizing annual cultural events such as East Coast Ukrainian Festival and other events that contribute to the cultural diversity of the Atlantic region; To strengthen the sense of cultural identity, belonging, and social ties within the Ukrainian community in Nova Scotia and Atlantic region through volunteer participation in cultural, social, and community events organized and supported by the Society; To commit surplus funds to supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian people. The East Coast Ukrainian Association is governed by the volunteer Board of Directors. All our cultural events are supported by dedicated volunteers who make them possible through coordination and implementation. Habitat for Humanity Canada's vision, mission and values are delivered by Habitat for Humanity affiliates that work in over 300 communities across Canada. Habitat for Humanity Canada affiliates select and prepare partner families for homeownership, manage the construction of Habitat homes, and hold partner family mortgages. They play a vital role at the local level by engaging community volunteers, securing resources, increasing the profile of Habitat for Humanity and raising awareness about the issue of affordable homeownership in their communities. In Nova Scotia Habitat for Humanity provides Affordable homeownership opportunities for low income working Nova Scotia families. With the help of volunteer builders, sponsor money and donor materials we construct energy efficient affordable homes for purchase by low income families. It is part of our mandate to provide educational opportunities on home maintenance and budgeting for homeownership.

Affirmative Ventures Association is an innovative, non-profit, organization that helps mental health consumers, and people with disabilities, achieve economic independence in the province of Nova Scotia. We have a successful track record of creating social enterprises that generate employment opportunities for persons with disabilities, helping them grow personally and professionally. We also provide housing opportunities through our growing number of housing units. The outcome of the joint efforts from employment and housing is to see participants of our programs achieve independence.

Alice Housing is a non-profit organization that provides safe second stage housing and supportive counselling for women and children in Nova Scotia, so they may begin a new life away from intimate partner violence. Second-stage housing is an interim step between an emergency shelter and independent living. Alice Housing manages 18 apartment units located throughout Halifax Regional Municipality. Since their inception in 1983, Alice House has won awards from Charity Intelligence Canada, the Better Business Bureau, and the Donner Canadian Foundation.
