Social Investing for Children Canada (SICC) is a registered federal non-profit that mobilizes community networks to drive social investing in every child’s education and future potential.

The East Coast Ukrainian Association is a registered non-profit organization in Halifax, NS. WHO WE ARE We advance Ukrainian cultural presence and contribute to the diversity of Nova Scotia’s cultural landscape through establishing annual cultural events such as the East Coast Ukrainian Festival, Ukrainian Christmas Market, Ukrainian Easter Market, and charitable concerts. We bring our community together by providing opportunities to participate in both organizing and attending these events. OUR VALUES On a volunteer and non-profit basis, the objective/s of the society is/are: To support, promote, and share Ukrainian culture in the Province of Nova Scotia by organizing annual cultural events such as East Coast Ukrainian Festival and other events that contribute to the cultural diversity of the Atlantic region; To strengthen the sense of cultural identity, belonging, and social ties within the Ukrainian community in Nova Scotia and Atlantic region through volunteer participation in cultural, social, and community events organized and supported by the Society; To commit surplus funds to supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian people. The East Coast Ukrainian Association is governed by the volunteer Board of Directors. All our cultural events are supported by dedicated volunteers who make them possible through coordination and implementation. We are grateful to all our volunteer performers who share their time and talent to advance Ukrainian culture in Atlantic Canada. We are always looking for motivated volunteers to join us and experience Ukrainian culture in a friendly and community-oriented way!

Nova Village NS is a family hub providing free programs and services supporting the health and wellbeing of families and youth in Halifax, Nova Scotia. NVNS provides opportunities to Connect, Grow and Thrive. A registered charity est. in 1986.

BBB is focused on helping businesses build credibility through education and tools that reward transparency and responsiveness. BBB also offers a standards-based accreditation program. We promote ethical business practices and help reduce harm from misleading and deceptive marketplace behaviour.

We build economic security, promote wellness, and create opportunities for all women, girls, Two Spirit and gender diverse people, and their families. We see a future of gender equality through child care, education, employment, housing, financial security, and more.

ISANS is a non-profit organization empowering immigrants and refugees to build their futures in Nova Scotia. With over 45 years of experience, we support more than 14,500 newcomers from 170+ countries each year as Atlantic Canada’s leading settlement agency. We offer a wide range of services, including language services, settlement support for families and children, employment programs, business development, community integration, and pre-arrival services, delivered in person and online in English and 46+ other languages. ISANS is also committed to supporting Canada’s Francophone Integration Pathway and champions diversity, accessibility, and support for equity-deserving communities.

At the Connelly Laboratory for Organizational Behaviour Research, we study how workplaces are changing and how employees are reacting to these changes. We focus on workers who are often overlooked: part-time workers, independent contractors, “temps”, mobile workers, temporary foreign workers and workers with disabilities.

We are a small non-profit organization who has raises funds that helps grant children an advance education by establishing and operating an independent school for grades primary through middle school grade nine, open to children and youth of the Halifax Regional Municipality.

The Upper Hammonds Plains Community Development Association operates the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Centre for all residents, businesses and organizations in the greater Upper Hammonds Plains, NS area to enjoy – with the primary focus to provide programs and services for the benefit of the African Nova Scotian residents of Upper Hammonds Plains as we work together and stand on the shoulders of our ancestors to preserve, strengthen and build the African Nova Scotian community of Upper Hammonds Plains.

The Resource Opportunities Centre is a non-profit, community development organization serving the communities along Route 333, from Goodwood to Dover. In 2010 the ROC was named the volunteer management organization of the new Prospect Road Community Centre located at 2141 Prospect Road in Hatchet Lake. The Centre is operated via lease agreement with the Halifax Regional Municipality.
