Light The Night is LLSC’s signature fundraising event, bringing communities together each fall in cities across Canada. Participants carry illuminated lanterns—red for supporters, white for survivors, and gold in memory of loved ones—as they walk in solidarity to honour, celebrate, and remember those impacted by blood cancers. Funds raised through Light The Night fuel groundbreaking research and vital support programs. The event not only shines a light on the progress made over the past two decades, but also inspires hope and connection, reminding everyone that no one walks alone in the blood cancer community.

The Exhibit Engagement Volunteer interacts in a positive manner with visitors to the Army Museum while monitoring the museum and its exhibits. The Volunteer is expected to greet visitors inside the museum with a brief explanation of the layout of the museum. They are responsible for: - enhancing visitor experience - assisting visitors with any questions - assisting with interactive exhibits within the museum - for maintain a safe and inviting environment for visitors - daily upkeep of exhibit spaces to ensure high quality experience for visitors The Exhibit Engagement Volunteer provides information about the exhibits and Nova Scotia’s participation in army mission throughout the 20 th and 21 st centuries.

Wellness Wags Assistance Dogs is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities through expertly trained service dogs. Our mission is to provide life-changing assistance dogs free of charge to Nova Scotians, empowering independence, safety, and emotional well-being. We offer: - autism service dogs for children - mobility service dogs for individuals with physical disabilities - facility dogs that support vulnerable communities in hospitals, courts, and other public service settings Through our programs, we strive to create inclusive communities, educate the public about the role of service dogs, and foster meaningful connections between people and dogs that enrich lives for both. Wellness Wags relies on the dedication of volunteers and the support of our community to raise, train, and place these remarkable dogs.

The Eastern Passage Food Security Society is a community-driven non-profit dedicated to ensuring equitable access to nutritious food. We focus on building sustainable, intergenerational connections through initiatives like our community fridge, mobile food security unit, and accessible gardening projects. By bringing together youth and seniors—particularly through the creation of four-season growing spaces—we aim to strengthen local food systems and foster a supportive, inclusive community for all residents.

Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is the only national, volunteer-based charity focused on finding the cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of children and adults affected by these diseases. We are one of the top two health charity funders of Crohn’s and colitis research in the world, investing over $150 million in research since 1974, leading to important breakthroughs in genetics, gut microbes, inflammation and cell repair as well as laying the groundwork for new and better treatments. We are transforming the lives of people affected by Crohn’s and colitis (the two main forms of inflammatory bowel disease) through research, patient programs, advocacy, and awareness. We have a local Chapter in Halifax that plans events, provides support and works on awareness initiatives.

The IWK Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to support IWK Health—the largest pediatric hospital and trauma centre in Atlantic Canada. IWK Health is also one of only two health centres in Canada that cares for both women and children. As the primary fundraising partner with IWK Health, we want to ensure Maritime women, children, and families needing the advanced and specialized care of IWK Health have access to the highest level of care possible.

Easter Seals provides programs and services to people living with disabilities through our 4 pillar programs: Take Part - recreation opportunities for those living with disabilities, Camp Tidnish - fully accessible overnight summer camp for people of all ages, Assisted Mobility - providing assisted mobility devices and health care equipment to those who need them whether that be wheel chairs, walkers, speech software, ramps, fences, etc. and New Leaf - provides life enhancement, job skills and supported employment opportunities for adults and youth with disabilities

The Rotary Club of Halifax Harbourside was established in 1989 and today is a vibrant Club of 50+ members, representing a broad range of backgrounds and professions. As a group, we are committed to doing good locally and internationally, to personal and professional growth and development, and to having fun in everything we do. Like all Rotary Clubs throughout the world, our Club's principal motto is Service Above Self. Rotary organizes projects around Five Avenues of Service – Club [capacity], Community, International, Youth and Vocational – to ensure service efforts are balanced and effective. Our Club's approach to service projects is to reflect our members’ passions in the projects that we pursue. We ask our members "What would you like to accomplish through Rotary?" and go from there. Our service projects are many and varied: We do larger multi-year projects like partnering with Hospice Halifax and St. George's YouthNet and have partners with whom we have done several projects in different years (The Themba Project in South Africa and the Father Tony / Pa Modou Hub in Gambia). Each year we also also start new projects that are brought to us by Club members - for example, many of our members have volunteered at Halifax Connects for 2 years now because a new member said this was an important event that we should support. Our Club provides funds to our partners, but we believe we are at our best when we are directly engaged so, as much as possible, we engage as volunteers with the groups we support. To fund our service projects, we conduct some smaller fundraisers (low effort) and 2 major fundraisers - our Mother's Day Brunch and the Halifax Ribfest. All our fundraisers have to be fun and provide good returns, and we focus on "pull" fundraisers that draw people. Pathway to Progress Nicaragua is dedicated to supporting an innovative program in Nicaragua that provides educational opportunities for Nicaragua's most vulnerable sector: children and youth living in poverty. Over 95% of the money that P2P raises goes directly to spending on this program in Nicaragua. We are giving students the chance for real academic success, and families living in poverty the hope of a better future for their children.Our deepest hope for all of them is that they will grow into responsible well-informed adults who can make a positive contribution to their country.
