Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is the only national, volunteer-based charity focused on finding the cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of children and adults affected by these diseases. We are one of the top two health charity funders of Crohn’s and colitis research in the world, investing over $150 million in research since 1974, leading to important breakthroughs in genetics, gut microbes, inflammation and cell repair as well as laying the groundwork for new and better treatments. We are transforming the lives of people affected by Crohn’s and colitis (the two main forms of inflammatory bowel disease) through research, patient programs, advocacy, and awareness. We have a local Chapter in Halifax that plans events, provides support and works on awareness initiatives.

The IWK Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to support IWK Health—the largest pediatric hospital and trauma centre in Atlantic Canada. IWK Health is also one of only two health centres in Canada that cares for both women and children. As the primary fundraising partner with IWK Health, we want to ensure Maritime women, children, and families needing the advanced and specialized care of IWK Health have access to the highest level of care possible.

Based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, Phin Performing Arts is a contemporary dance performance company dedicated to creating moving dance and multi-disciplinary works for the stage, and providing immersive and educational experiences in movement arts including classes for people living with Parkinson's and their care partners.

Since 2008, our Family Resource Centre has been a cornerstone of the Mulgrave Park community, serving more than 2,500 residents through programs that empower families, support healthy child development, and foster connection. Driven by Terry’s courage and determination, the Terry Fox Foundation collaborates with and inspires people around the world to support and fundraise for bold, extraordinary research to end cancer. Terry Fox was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) in his right leg in 1977 and had his leg amputated 15 cm (six inches) above the knee. While in hospital, Terry was so overcome by the suffering of other cancer patients that he decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. He called his journey the Marathon of Hope. Terry’s Marathon of Hope took place in 1980 with the simple objective of informing Canadians of the importance of finding a cure for cancer. With fierce determination, he ran an average of 42 kilometres (26 miles) every day for 143 days. The annual Terry Fox Run has become a fall tradition in Canada, with more than 650 communities, big and small, urban and rural, English and French, fundraising for cancer research. Becoming a Terry Fox volunteer is an incredibly rewarding experience, not only will you be directly responsible for sharing Terry’s message of hope, courage and determination, you will be giving back to your community. Our Terry Fox Runs are 100% volunteer run, so we are always on the lookout for passionate Terry Foxers to help us.

Craft Nova Scotia is the provincially recognized craft organization with a membership of over 300 individual artisans and craft enthusiasts, and represent over 1000 others through various member groups and guilds. Craft Nova Scotia is home to the Centre for Craft studios and Mary E. Black Gallery.

The East Coast Ukrainian Association is a registered non-profit organization in Halifax, NS. WHO WE ARE We advance Ukrainian cultural presence and contribute to the diversity of Nova Scotia’s cultural landscape through establishing annual cultural events such as the East Coast Ukrainian Festival, Ukrainian Christmas Market, Ukrainian Easter Market, and charitable concerts. We bring our community together by providing opportunities to participate in both organizing and attending these events. OUR VALUES On a volunteer and non-profit basis, the objective/s of the society is/are: To support, promote, and share Ukrainian culture in the Province of Nova Scotia by organizing annual cultural events such as East Coast Ukrainian Festival and other events that contribute to the cultural diversity of the Atlantic region; To strengthen the sense of cultural identity, belonging, and social ties within the Ukrainian community in Nova Scotia and Atlantic region through volunteer participation in cultural, social, and community events organized and supported by the Society; To commit surplus funds to supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian people. The East Coast Ukrainian Association is governed by the volunteer Board of Directors. All our cultural events are supported by dedicated volunteers who make them possible through coordination and implementation.
