East Coast Roast 2026Position OverviewThe East Coast Roast is Arthritis Society Canada’s signature fundraising event, bringing communities together to support those living with arthritis. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support event logistics, guest experience, and on-site activities to ensure a smooth and memorable evening. Time CommitmentEvent Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026  Event Time: Evening event (exact timing TBD)  Volunteer Shifts: Full shifts only: approximately 6–8 hours  Anticipated shifts include: 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.   6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.  We are seeking approximately 6 volunteers for this event. Arthritis Society Canada staff will be on-site, along with experienced event support.Light lifting may be required   Seating is available throughout the shift as needed.  Location Halifax Convention Centre  1650 Argyle Street, Halifax, NS  (Exact ballroom location to be confirmed)  Key Areas of Responsibility Volunteers may assist in one or more of the following areas throughout their shift:  Guest Support & Event Flow  Greet guests and assist with event navigation  Respond to general guest inquiries (washrooms, seating, coat check)  Event Support & Sales Processing  Support raffle ticket sales and fundraising activities  Assist with pledge collection and fundraising tracking  Communicate totals to staff or AV as required  On-Site Engagement  Support interactive elements, including a potential event booth or activation  Assist with setup, monitoring, and wrap-up of activity areas  Desired Skills & Attributes Friendly, professional, and guest-focused  Comfortable interacting with the public   Flexible and willing to assist where needed  Able to remain on-site for the duration of a full shift  Benefits Support a meaningful cause benefiting Canadians living with arthritis  Gain hands-on event experience  Network with community members and professionals  Receive a letter of reference upon successful completion  Major Contacts  An Arthritis Society Canada staff member will oversee your role and be your main point of contact. Availability and Working Environment  This is an in-person opportunity, and volunteers must be available for assigned shifts during the event and have reliable transportation to and from the venue. We appreciate your interest in volunteering with Arthritis Society Canada. The Westend Community Food Bank is looking for individuals interested in serving on our Board of Directors. Of particular interest would be someone willing to form relationships with community organizations for the purpose of obtaining donations of non-food products. We meet 10 times a year in a Board member's home in Dartmouth and also via Zoom if appropriate. We usually meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 until 8:30.We are a very hands-on Board that gives strategic direction but also helps resolve day to day issues that the Food Bank Manager or Food Bank Administrator need assistance with.If you are interested in being involved in a very active organization that helps food insecure clients each and every week, we are interested in hearing from you.

Camp Kidston seeks a new Financial Administrator beginning immediately. Responsibilities of the Financial Administrator position combine those of Bookkeeper and Registrar for the Camp. The accounting system used is QuickBooks Online, while the camping software is Camp Brain. The Financial Administrator works closely with the Executive Director (ED), Board of Directors (including Marketing and HR sub-committees), Treasurer and Payroll Administrator. The role requires about 8-10 hours per week during the busy spring period, and just 8-10 hour per month the rest of the year. The Financial Administrator reports to the Treasurer.Key Responsibilities:Process all accounts payable, supporting the Board and Summer Director to liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary.Record staff payroll in QuickBooks in conjunction with the Payroll Administrator.Working closely with the Board and Summer Director, oversee and monitor the payment processes for camp registration fees recorded in Camp Brain to ensure that all registration fees are collected.Ensure that all receipts and payments are recorded in QuickBooks; record appropriate adjustments to coding, accruals etc.Prepare monthly financial statements for the Treasurer and Board.Respond to correspondence on the admin@campkidston.com email on a timely basis.Reconcile the bank account monthly, monitor cash flows and liaise with the East Coast Credit Union account manager as necessary.Assist with the annual budget process by providing historical financial information.Provide necessary source documents and information to facilitate the annual review process of the financial statements by a qualified accountant.Assist with the development of policies and procedures as necessary and ensure that they are followed.Produce annual tax certificates for charitable donations in accordance with CRA requirements.Contribute to Board discussions and decision-making from a financial viewpoint.

They offer friendly, calm assistance to travellers of all ages and abilities, including those who may be anxious, unfamiliar with the airport, or navigating accessibility needs.This role is well-suited to people who enjoy helping others, communicating clearly, and contributing to an inclusive, community-focused environment. We have dedicated groups who help year after year, including ICE Cheerleading, the Shriners, Kingsport Fitness and Wellness, Triton Swim, Horton D1 Girls Volleyball, and many individuals who make this event possible.
