À propos

Halifax Lancers needs you! Lancers is a non-profit organization that depends on a volunteer Board of Directors to steer us by ensuring sound ethical governance and financial management policies.

The Halifax Lancers Board of Directors is actively seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic individuals to volunteer for the Lancers Board of Directors. We very much hope you consider offering to share your time and talents.

Halifax Lancers is committed to modelling diversity, inclusion, and equity and maintaining fair and equal opportunities and treatment for all. We recognize the contribution that diverse life experiences can bring to our board and leadership.

What does the Halifax Lancers Board of Directors do?

Our non-profit stable is led by a volunteer working Board consisting of parents, guardians, adult riders, and community members who are elected or whose appointment is confirmed by our membership for a three-year term at our AGM.

Our Board of Directors is committed to the highest standards of governance. The Board’s roles include guiding the strategic direction of Lancers, developing, and implementing policies, maintaining our financial stability through fund development planning and fundraising, and ensuring the preservation of our historic building and riding school.

Our Bylaws allow the Board size to be between 5 and 12 people, at least 19 years of age.

Time Commitment:

The total commitment is 6-8 hours per month:

A monthly meeting at 6:45pm, usually on the third Wednesday of the month of approximately 2 hours, except in August when there is no meeting.
