EKKO is a vibrant non-profit organization dedicated to creating an inclusive and accessible space for music education. Through innovative programs and partnerships, we strive to provide opportunities for youth to engage with music, build creative skills, and develop lifelong confidence. Our work brings together a community of educators, students, and supporters to cultivate a love of music and creativity in the heart of our local and global communities.

Founded in 1994, the Environmental Services Association Maritimes (ESAM) has been operating for over 20 years as a not-for-profit business organization dedicated to the promotion of environmental products, services and organizations within the environmental industry.

Our Board brings a diverse skill set to ESAM, with representation from the Federal Government, academia, the consulting industry, and even business owners.  The breadth of experience is impressive and includes expertise in the fields of environmental assessment, fisheries and wildlife, hazardous materials, site assessment, remediation, and research and development.

Our mission is to feed Nova Scotians in need and reduce that need.

To achieve this, we distribute 2 million kilograms of donated food to our member network of 147 food banks and meal programs across the province. But our role also extends beyond food. We support our members as they build capacity to serve their communities, and we help raise awareness of the challenges hunger and poverty create each day for thousands of Nova Scotians.

FIN Atlantic International Film Festival has blossomed into one of Canada’s premier celebrations of film and filmmaking, becoming an essential platform for films both local and global. Celebrating its 42nd year in 2022, the festival began as a tiny, grassroots operation in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 1981, relocating to Halifax the following year. Providing an immersive escape and experience for movie lovers, filmmakers, and industry professionals worldwide, the Atlantic International Film Festival is Atlantic Canada’s curator of epic and unforgettable stories.

FIN Atlantic International Film Festival is an eight-day celebration of film, media and music from around the world. It’s a festival that turns Halifax – a charming and historic coastal city – into an international mecca for the arts, abuzz with filmmakers, industry types and film lovers.

Offering a first look at the best international films of the festival season, FIN Atlantic International Film Festival is a champion of local filmmakers, committed to bridging the gap. All of our film selections are chosen with our community in mind and our special events are designed to bring us all together. <p class="font_8">The Fairview Resource Centre is a community hub located in Fairview, Nova Scotia. Fairview is in the urban core of Halifax and considered the most diverse neighbourhood east of Montreal. The population is approximately 12,000 and the community has many small/medium size businesses, apartment buildings and single family homes. The centre began in 1986 and is a non-profit organization and registered charity. In 2015, the centre moved from 3524 Dutch Village Road to their own facility at 6 Titus Street. The centre has grown to offer a variety of programs and supports for all ages.  All programs and services are FREE of charge.</p>
<p class="font_8">The goal is to provide EDUCATION, OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT to the community. The centre offers community based, participant lead programs in a safe and welcoming environment. We know transportation, language barriers and childcare can be a challenge to access services. That is why the centre offers on-site childcare, help with transportation and uses translators if needed. We want to remove as many barriers as possible so that everyone can access services.</p>

Technology is rapidly changing. Computers, monitors, printers, and other electronics are all being replaced every few years.

Free Geek is where retired electronic devices can find new life. Free Geek staff and volunteers will work hard to refurbish the electronics we receive. We will maintain strict data security standards when processing any data-bearing devices that pass through our facility. By choosing us as your e-cycler, your electronics will be properly disposed, or given back to the community through our digital inclusion programs.

Fusion Halifax is a volunteer run, non-profit organization that believes young leaders are an incredibly valuable part of any community. Fusion’s purpose is to empower young leaders to improve our communities. The best way to accelerate the pace of action in Halifax is to develop a network of strong and empowered young leaders with tools, skills and experience to become doers in their communities.
