Volunteer Information Session (Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia)

Category: Job Fairs and Recruitment
Dates: February 13, 2018 - February 13, 2018

Do you ❤ genealogy and family history?

Just in time for Valentine’s day, you will have an opportunity to show your love at the Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia (GANS). A volunteer information session will be held on Tuesday, February 13, at 1:00 pm at the GANS Office.

What to expect at the session?
There will be an overview of some of the projects available, including cataloguing, creating a surname index, assisting in preparation of library finding aids,
working on a project with a partner organization, providing guidance to users of research room, and much more. If you have a special talent/skill that you feel would fit in with a genealogy society (e.g, video/audio editing, technology in general) come along and have a chat!

Some roles require availability during the weekdays and others, once training completed, can be done primarily from your home. While being a GANS member is always good, it is not required for all roles. There is no commitment by attending the information session.

What: GANS Volunteer Information Session
When: Tuesday, February 13th at 1:00pm-2:00pm
Where: 33 Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth, Suite 100

Please register by sending an email to vp@novascotiaancestors.ca with your name and put
“Info Session” in subject line. At this time of year, weather can be unpredictable so make sure you check your email the morning of the 13th in case there is a cancellation.

Goodwill Bot: Tails and Ales (K9 Partners Assistance Dogs)

Category: Bar and Drink
Dates: July 3, 2017 - July 3, 2017

Monday, July 3, 2017
5-8pm
Good Robot Brewing Company

We're back and once again taking over Good Robot for the evening.

With the K9PAD dogs and puppies by our sides, we'll be hunkering down at Good Robot until they force us out. But really... will they? Cute dogs... amazing beer. I think we'll stay.

The K9PAD team are looking to gain your support for our newest Service Dogs in Training. These two dogs are being trained for clients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a very rare condition. Never heard of it? Check them out here: Atlantic Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Society Some of our other dogs will be there too. We'll satisfy your puppy fever.

So why not come out, enjoy the amazing beer that Good Robot has to offer, play with some puppies, and support a great cause?

We've got a unique twist on the 50/50. Yes, we're incorporating our pups. Our team will also be accepting toys acceptable for Xlarge and Giant breeds (They love kongs, freeze-dried treats, dehydrated treats, and other durable toys). We might just have a few other things to satisfy your puppy cravings.

Ready for it? Here we come...
