The Aboriginal Healing Foundation's mission is to encourage and support Aboriginal people in building and reinforcing sustainable healing processes that address the legacy of physical abuse and sexual abuse in the residential school system, including inter-generational impacts.

The Actuarial Foundation of Canada supports youth education, consumer education, and research initiatives that utilize actuarial science and skills in the public interest. They work to promote youth education in mathematics and financial matters and to advance the public’s understanding of financial and risk-related matters.

A private, non-denominational development agency that promotes sustainable and equitable social development in Asia and Africa, without regard to race, religion or political persuasion. AKFC also acts as a catalyst for the discussion and understanding of critical global issues in Canada, links Canadian institutions and expertise with counterparts in the developing world, and runs a variety of management training workshops and programs aimed at improving the quality of development assistance.

Provides grants to charities and not-for-profit organizations that are involved in variety of activities and/or educational initiatives around crime prevention, road safety and home safety.

American Express Foundation supports the areas of community service, education and employment, and cultural programs. Areas of interests include: Arts and Culture; Education; Community Services; Child Development; Child Welfare

Incorporated as a federal non-profit foundation in 1965, the principal function of the Foundation is to accept donations and legacies and to apply such monies exclusively to the benefit of animals. The foundation is interested in supporting, financially, projects and activities which will further the cause of animal welfare in Canada.

The Banting Research Foundation supports young, promising Canadian researchers at the outset of their careers, doing a broad range of basic medical research. Since 1925, our grants have been instrumental in launching the careers of many scientists who have gone on to make medical discoveries that have impacted global health. These include the purification of the anti-blood clotting agent, heparin, and the creation of the heart pacemaker.

The Foundation’s primary goals are to support causes in the following areas: Canadian universities through capital campaigns and other special projects, Bursary plans at Canadian universities, Hospitals, health services, long term care institutions and specialized health organizations, Social service agencies Arts organizations which promote the development and understanding of Canadian culture.

This foundation believes in using its resources to support creative endeavours that have a concrete impact in bettering the lives of individuals and communities, both in reaction to specific situations and by prevention of potential problems. The foundation is focused on the creation of a peaceful, non-violent, and just society and funds programs dealing with peace, human rights, and conflict resolution.

The Canada Council for the Arts is a national arms length agency created by the federal government in 1957 to “foster and promote the study and enjoyment of, and the production of works in, the arts.”

The Million Dollar Round Table Charitable Foundation Canada is a public charity, incorporated as a non-profit organization in Canada on November 17th, 1994. It receives gifts mainly, but not exclusively, from the members of the Million Dollar Round Table in Canada and from some foreign countries. Applications for grants are accepted anytime during the year. All grant requests are submitted to the Grants Committee for review and classification. The Committee then makes recommendations to the Board of Directors, which must act upon all grant requests. Please note that the MDRT Foundation Canada Grants Committee meets once a year, in the Fall, to review grant proposals and make recommendations. Keeping this in mind, please note that applications received after the stated deadline will be held until the following Fall. Updated documents may be required.

The program provides funding, normally in the form of grants, to community-based events that foster intercultural or interfaith understanding, civic memory and pride or respect for core democratic values. The primary intention is to create concrete opportunities for interaction among cultural and faith communities. Applications will be considered year-round.
