The Foundation was first established in the 1950s by Willard Garfield Weston and his wife Reta, with a donation of shares from the family company, George Weston Limited. Today this business has grown into Canada’s largest private sector employer with over 200,000 employees. The group of food retailing and baking companies includes not only the original baking division, Weston Foods, but also ACE Bakery and Loblaw Companies Limited. It is the success of these companies, the dedication of their employees and the loyalty of their customers that ultimately enables the Foundation to fulfill its charitable mandate.

The Gordon Foundation is a private, philanthropic foundation based in Toronto, Canada. The Foundation undertakes research, leadership development and public dialogue so that public policies in Canada reflect a commitment to collaborative stewardship of our freshwater resources and to a people-driven, equitable and evolving North. Over the past quarter century The Gordon Foundation has invested over $27 million in a wide variety of northern community initiatives and freshwater protection initiatives.

Wilburforce Foundation is a private, philanthropic foundation that funds environmental conservation in the Western U.S. and Western Canada. Begun in 1991, the Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations with programs that advance our vision and focus on our funding areas.

Wildlife Habitat Canada works to conserve, restore and enhance wildlife habitat in Canada. We fund habitat conservation projects, promote conservation action and foster coordination among conservation groups.
