À propos de l'organisation
Ekko Performing Arts Society
Arts, culture et patrimoine
Ekko Performing Arts Society (EPAS) is a registered non-profit organization based in Downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, dedicated to breaking down barriers that limit access to performing arts in our community.
We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, creativity, and connection that come through the performing arts, regardless of age, background, experience, or financial circumstances.
Through music education, community choirs and ensembles, musical theatre productions, workshops, live performances, and community engagement initiatives, we create welcoming and inclusive spaces for people of all ages and abilities to learn, connect, and express themselves.
Community engagement is at the heart of what we do. We work with local organizations, artists, and community partners to create opportunities for participation, collaboration, and connection. Alongside our regular programming, we offer free and low-cost community activities, events, and performances that make the arts more accessible to the broader community. Our commitment to financial accessibility also includes sliding-scale pricing, subsidized programming, and our Gifts of Music scholarship initiative, which helps children and youth access music education regardless of financial circumstances.
As a community-driven organization, volunteers play an important role in bringing our mission to life. From supporting events and performances to assisting with outreach, fundraising, administration, and community initiatives, volunteers help us build a more connected, creative, and inclusive community.
