Paws To Read program helps kids in the HRM improve reading skills

The Halifax Public Libraries knows this to be true. They have been partnering with Therapeutic Paws of Canada (TPOC) and one of their children’s programs, TPOC Paws To Read, which matches young readers with TPOC Child Certified Therapy Dogs.
The TPOC Paws To Read program provides an opportunity for children to read to a certified therapy dog and handler. The presence of the dog provides a relaxing setting for the child to practice their literacy skills.
