Client Service Volunteer - Health Equipment Loan Program

Description: Locations: St. John’s and Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland Locations: Amherst, Truro, Antigonish, Sydney, Dartmouth, Kentville, Bridgewater, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia Locations: Moncton, Saint John, New Brunswick Location: Charlottetown, PEI This role allows you to work with clients and their health care providers for referral requests or the loaning and returning of health equipment they need in their homes to be independent following surgery or during illness. You will provide instructions on how to use the equipment and where they can contact for returns, repair, or loan continuation. Hours for this role will vary but are typically 3-4 hours a week in the morning of afternoon Monday to Friday. Friendly Calls Program Volunteer

Description: Location: Atlantic Canada Provinces. This role is to provide phone calls with the participants in the program with the goals of making them feel like they are apart of the community and help to reduce the effects of loneliness. As well as strengthen their well being and independence. The roles involve regular calls to your assigned individuals having meaningful conversations and interests of theirs. You also must record and report each phone calls made to the individuals and if there are any health or safety concerns with them. Meals on Wheels - Volunteer

Organization: Canadian Red Cross (CRC)

Description: Location: St John’s Newfoundland. The role of these volunteers is to pick up prepared meals and drop off to the clients during the pre-determined schedule. Ensuring safe food and hygiene handing. This program is to deliver nutritious meals to community members and report to a program coordinator. This role is approximately 1.5-3 hours once a week. Community Connector Volunteer

Organization: Canadian Red Cross (CRC)

Description: Location: St. Andrews, St John, Moncton, and Miramichi, New Brunswick. This role is suited for any individuals with a desire and passion for supporting older adults in their communities. Each participant will be pairs with one of the volunteers in the community to learn about any challenges or issues they are experiencing. As well as connect them with any community programs or services that may be of interest or help them. This role may include accompanying the individuals to resources or services. In order to participate your must be at least 18yrs of age and experience with working with older adults is considered an asset. Technician - Health Equipment Loan Program

You will also deliver and install HELP basic equipment for the clients. Documentation of each repair and cleaning of the equipment is required while also instructing clients and caregivers on the use and maintenance of each piece of equipment. Delivery Volunteer

Walk of Hope Volunteer

Description: Do you want to make a difference in the lives of those affected by ovarian cancer?   Ovarian Cancer Canada is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to support the 2022 Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope on September 11th. This annual event is the most powerful event of its kind in the country and is the only walk in Canada to direct all attention and fundraising towards helping people with ovarian cancer and those at risk to live fuller, better, longer lives. The Walk is family friendly event taking place in communities large and small across Canada and virtually. This event rallies communities together to support those who have been affected by ovarian cancer and make a difference.   Volunteers are essential to this event, and we need your help! Help create a safe and welcoming community of support for all participants – there are plenty of ways to get involved. Volunteer opportunities include:  Building local relationships by securing sponsorships and in-kind donations  Supporting local event logistics  Using social media to build excitement in your community  Leading on-site activations (accepting donations, completing registrations, ensuring participants know where and how to get involved)  Let’s work together to enact meaningful change and help women everywhere.
