ElderDog Canada is a national, registered charitable organization dedicated to ageing people, ageing dogs, and the important connection they enjoy. Our goals are to:
• Assist and support older adults in the care and well-being of their canine companions;
• Promote the welfare of older dogs whose lives have been disrupted due to illness, relocation or death of a human companion;
• Educate about the human-animal bond in general and the significant role of companion animals in the health and well-being of seniors;
• Support and conduct research into the human-animal bond with a focus on seniors and canine companionship.
ElderDog Canada Inc. is a registered, national charity dedicated to ageing people, ageing dogs, and the important connection they enjoy. The organization is based in Nova Scotia with chapters in HRM. Volunteers support seniors and their dogs with: (1) in-home support for those struggling with dog walking, feeding, helping take dogs to groomer or vet, help giving veterinary medications, etc; (2) securing temporary or forever homes for dogs in times of a senior's illness, hospitalization, or other life event, and (3) education to the broader community about the positive impacts of the senior-dog bond.

Frag For Charity is an initiative of volunteers that raises funds and awareness for cancer charities by hosting local and online video game tournaments, auctions and entertainment events. It was founded in 2006 after a gamer lost his father to lung cancer. Over the last 9 years, Frag For Charity has raised over $90 000 in more than 20 events for health-related charities including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, and the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Halifax Association for Community Living (HACL) is a non-for-profit, charitable organization serving adults, youth, children with intellectual disabilities and their families in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Founded in 1954, HACL has a longstanding belief that all people should be accepted as responsible, contributing members of their family and society.
<p class="font_8">The Halifax Community Chaplaincy Society walks with those who are transitioning from prison to community. With a team of committed and trained volunteers, we assist former offenders with re-integration, by focusing on support, accountability and healing. While many volunteers within the Chaplaincy Society approach this mission from a place of faith; we do this work with individuals of all faiths, or no faith. We assist former offenders who wish to establish, or re-establish, relationships with faith communities. We support former offenders in building responsible, constructive lives, thereby reducing recidivism and contributing to healthier, safer communities.</p>

<p align="left"><span style="font-family: Georgia;font-size: medium"> The Halifax Dump and Run is Halifax's largest community garage sale! Our goal is to divert waste from local landfills by collecting items people no longer have use for and selling them (discounted) at a gymnasium-sized indoor yard sale in order to raise money for charitable organizations. Last year over $13,000 was raised for charities throughout Nova Scotia.</span></p>
We rely on volunteers to get food onto the tables of our clients in the peninsula, Halifax area. How much time you can spare for this valuable work depends on you. There are also special projects and fundraisers we hold that may be more suitable for individuals who can't commit on a weekly basis but have times through the year for short time periods.
