Somme Branch Legion

About Somme Branch Legion
The Somme Branch Legion was founded in 1927, named to commemorate one of the First World War's most historic battlefields. Our Branch, located at 54 King Street in downtown Dartmouth was constructed from old church property. A team of volunteer workers refurbished the church hall, which in the late 1920s and 1930s served as the site for the Branch Soup Kitchen which was established to feed the needy during the harsh times of the Great Depression.
Today it serves as a facility where people, young and old, can meet for friendly conversation and activity. Drop in for a visit. Our lounge and games room areas offer a wide variety of entertainment for members and guests alike. If you like to dance or listen to live music, come and visit on the weekends as a live band plays Saturday nights from 8pm-12am.
