About Homburg Centre
The Homburg Centre for Health & Wellness is a state-of-the-art athletics and recreation facility at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.
It is named after Dr. Richard Homburg, a successful real estate entrepreneur and philanthropist who moved to Nova Scotia from the Netherlands in 1972. Dr. Homburg is a major supporter of the university, contributing to both the development of this wellness facility and various student bursaries and international mobility awards.
The centre serves as a hub for:
Fitness and Recreation: Offering SMUfit memberships, fitness classes, personal training, and nutrition services.
Sports: Hosting student intramurals, club sports, and varsity athletics.
Community: Providing facilities for "Jr. Huskies" camps and various rentals.
It is located at 920 Tower Road and is a key part of the university's focus on student health and entrepreneurial spirit.
