Easter Seals Nova Scotia is looking for individuals interested in assisting with our Learn to Boccia program at Northwood. Boccia (pronounced bot-cha) is a precision ball sport played by individuals with a wide variety of disabilities, mobility difficulties, and those that are able-bodied. Players sit on a chair or in their wheelchair and throw or roll their ball with the goal of landing it closest to the target “jack” ball. Volunteers are needed Wednesdays 1:45-3:45 at Northwood in Halifax to assist in refereeing games and acting as sport attendants to players (passing them the ball, aligning their ramp, etc.).
