LINKS is a children’s literacy program that is seeking volunteers for the 2014-2015 school year. Terms start September 22nd 2014. The LINKS program provides one on one and small group literacy instruction to students in grades primary to six that need extra support in literacy skills development. We teach students in the areas of phonological awareness, reading comprehension, reading fluency, and writing. Fall term runs September-December, Winter runs January-March and Spring runs March-June. Volunteers are asked to commit to one hour sessions, two times per week for a total of 2 hours per week or 20 hours per term. Full LINKS Training will be provided before the LINKS term begins.
