The objectives of the Association are to promote the study of our Nova Scotian genealogical heritage for our members and the general public by:
1. providing educational opportunities;
2. collecting and preserving genealogical material;
3. encouraging the study of Nova Scotia genealogy and family history;
4. furthering ethical practices and promoting scientific and effective techniques of genealogical research;
5. publishing and distributing genealogical materials;
6. acquiring real and personal property as may be necessary or desirable to meet these objectives.
