Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Community Programming

Awarded to two applicants annually, this award recognizes projects or initiatives that encourage a greater understanding of the past. The 2018 recipients will receive:

  • A cash prize of $2500;
  • Travel and accommodations for two individuals to travel to Ottawa to attend the awards ceremony at Rideau Hall, the Canada’s History Forum, and the History Makers celebration dinner; and
  • A medal from Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada.

Eligible projects can include exhibits, digital projects, conservation initiatives, and educational and public programming.
