ElderDog: assists and supports older adults in the care and well-being of their canine companions; provides care and companionship for older dogs who have lost an older human companion; educates about the role of companion animals in the health and well-being of seniors; and, honours life and loss of canine companions through bereavement support and commemoration. Your role would include: contacting and welcoming new members/volunteers; outreach and liaison with rescue groups, senior serving organizations; calling and chairing Pawd meetings; participating in conference calls with National Office; working with Program Co-ordinators to facilitate ElderDog “business”; coordinating Pawd roles and keeping records of Pawd activities; negotiating relationships with community organizations (vets, groomers, local businesses); communicating with Pawd members and National Office on an ongoing basis; representing ElderDog at information and fund raising events; serving as back-up for other roles as needed; serving as an ambassador for ElderDog Canada and the Dartmouth East Pawd.
