Opportunity Description:

ABOUT Ride for Cancer powered by BMO Bank of Montreal hosted by the QEII Foundation is the fastest growing and largest fundraising event in Atlantic Canada. On October 3, 2020, over 800 riders will embark on an epic journey with one common goal: to transform cancer care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.   OUR IMPACT Since 2015, our Ride community has raised $2.6 million net to transform cancer care here at home in Atlantic Canada.  Lives have been changed, patients have been saved and countless families have felt the impact of funds raised through the Ride community – all for the 1 in 2 Atlantic Canadians who will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.   In 2020, our Ride community will bring the QEII Health Sciences Centre one step closer to introducing a new, world-class procedure – a breast seed brachytherapy program.   Access to a breast seed brachytherapy program will help ensure that some early stage breast cancer patients – from every community across our province – can spend less time at the QEII undergoing radiotherapy. This program will reduce the number of treatments required from 30 to 1. For patients, this means more time at home, focusing on what matters most.   JOIN OUR FIGHT We need you to face the fight with us – join Ride for Cancer powered by BMO Bank of Montreal as our Volunteer Lead to help support our 200 volunteers on this epic journey.   Everyone has been touched by cancer.
