Opportunity Description:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES You report to the Financial Officer You manage and deposit received funds. You manage incoming payments, write outgoing cheques, while monitoring income and expenses, and informing the Financial Officer of any unauthorized transactions. You post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, and keep financial records and document all business financial transactions using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems. In collaboration with the Finance Officer, you plan in formulating and presenting the yearly budget to the Board of Directors for approval and ensuring adherence to the predetermined financial budget for the year. You promote motivation within your Team. You research and support fundraising and sponsorship opportunities. You ensure the protection of funds from any potential misuse.    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS A one-year commitment to the role is required. Hours of volunteer work averages 8 hours a week from home. A Finance or Accounting background is highly valued OR Transferable skills gained through volunteer roles or similar experiences. Bilingual- Proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Discretion- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information. Detailed-Oriented and Organizational Skills: Essential for accurate record-keeping and documentation management. Effective Communication: Ability to clearly convey complex financial information, both verbally and visually. Integrity: Being trustworthy and honest in all financial dealings. Collaborator: Motivated initiative-taker with the ability to work collaboratively and independently. Financial Understanding: Solid grasp of budget planning and finance. Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Quicken, Google Drive and Dropbox (file management and sharing) APPLICATION WITH RESUME FOR PART TIME.
