Volunteer Position:         Sunshine Team Lead – Bluenose Marathon Start Date:                             April 3, 2017   Role Description The Sunshine Foundation of Canada is a national charity serving children with severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses. Founded in London, ON over 25 years ago, we raise the funds needed to fulfill a child’s individual Dream and also to operate DreamLifts to Disney theme parks. Sunshine has fulfilled over 8,000 dreams and 59 DreamLifts across Canada.  By fulfilling the dreams of children with several physical disabilities, we help Sunshine kids realize that nothing can stand in the way of a Dream. We are seeking a Volunteer Leader to ignite a passionate group of runners for this years’ Bluenose Marathon, by encouraging runner/walker registration, fundraising and promotion of the event in support of The Sunshine Foundation of Canada. Key Responsibilities Recruit runners/walkers for any of the following races happening at the Bluenose Marathon on Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st, 2017 Encourage runner pledges and fundraising Inform runners/walkers of all details of pre-race and race activities and requirements Work with Sunshine National office via email and phone communication to meet specific event goals Qualifications Excellent organizational and time management skills Outstanding leadership and people skills Internet access and email use Team Lead does not have to participate in run/walk unless desired Benefits Sunshine t-shirt Free race entry (should you choose to walk/run) Opportunity to win amazing incentive prizing Please email cover letter and resume to volunteer@sunshine.ca by Wednesday, March 15th, 2017.
