Role Description The mission of Square Roots is to reduce food waste and food insecurity in Nova Scotia and beyond. The Volunteer Coordinator will ensure the sustainability and growth of the program in Halifax South. Roles and Responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to): Selling produce bundles twice per month at a designated selling location which involves: ➢ coordinating delivery of produce from Fairview ➢ organizing volunteers to help with the Saturday pick up ➢ Setting up and tearing down selling location ➢ Interacting with customers ➢ Handling cash and counting bundles sold ➢ Ordering produce   Marketing the program: ➢ Creating marketing materials for Web and paper using graphic design software (Canva) ➢ Knowledge of Google products like Google sheets and Google Docs an asset ➢ Building key relationships with people and groups to help expand the program’s reach ➢ Using social media effectively to advertise program and events   The successful candidate will ideally have experience in: Customer service Community involvement Advocacy   The successful candidate will ideally have characteristics such as: Passion for helping others Excellent communication Strong time management Creativity Takes initiative Problem solving Reliable
