Halifax Helps is looking for someone who loves social media and is a passionate community connector to raise awareness of our work and get others involved in and excited about what we’re doing. Halifax Helps is new and tiny but we think we can have a big impact – and in this role, so can you! The social media coordinator will: build and maintain an active social media presence across our social media outlets (Twitter and Facebook) research, write/create and post regular updates (including graphics) to our social media outlets monitor activity and user interactions for all social media outlets provide weekly progress reports develop a social media strategy (optional) Skills and experience Excellent writing (style and grammar), communication, and organization skills Experience and interest in social media, particularly Twitter and Facebook Highly self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision but also able to work as part of a team Interest in community building and Halifax Help’s mission Ability to design and create social media graphics Knowledgeable about Halifax with a general awareness of non-profits in area Logistics You will work directly with the only other person working on Halifax Helps – the founder, Charmaine Dymond! We’re asking for a commitment of approximately 2-4 hours a week for a minimum of three months. You’ll work from home and will ideally start immediately. Please note this is a volunteer position.
