Are you enthusiastic and do you enjoy engaging children in fun and creative activities? Frontier College is a looking for dedicated, energetic & creative volunteers (16 and over) to support in our TD summer reading tent program over the months of July and August. The goal of the reading tent program is to address summer learning loss which is more prevalent in children who don’t have as many opportunities to engage in literacy activities over the summer. Two Frontier College staff will take a mobile tent into various Halifax & Dartmouth communities where they will read many stories and do various fun and engaging activities with children. Enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy reading and are looking to gain some new leadership skills while working with children are encouraged to join us. Anyone can volunteer. Our training in late June will provide you with all the tools you need to be a successful reading tent volunteer.  We ask for a minimum weekly commitment of 2 hours and volunteers can choose the weekly program site that works best for them. Application deadline is June 24th. Apply now and we can begin the process
