Opportunity Description:

THE ROLE: As a Bide Awhile Public Relations Officer, you represent Bide Awhile at public events acting as a brand ambassador to raise awareness of the services we offer in the field of animal welfare. As required, you also attend committee meetings to develop PR strategy, including; speaking points, FAQs and other key messages. The role is aimed toward those currently enrolled in a University or College level Public Relations or Communications program but is open to anyone who expresses interest. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience, education, or an interest in public relations and animal welfare; Comfortable working within a team; Willingness to learn about Bide Awhile and what we do. COMMITMENT: Varies, depending on the event, and would occur periodically during the year rather than on a regular weekly or monthly basis all year. ABOUT US: Founded in 1970, Bide Awhile was one of Nova Scotia’s first “no-kill’ shelters. Bide Awhile will not euthanize healthy, adoptable animals. We believe in second chances. Veterinary care is provided to the best of our financial ability. Euthanasia is a last resort for untreatable health or behavioral problems.
