project ARC (project ARC Casting Call – Auditions 2017-18)

Casting Call The multi-award winning human rights show, project ARC, is looking for some new volunteer actors, aged 12-20, to join us for our 2017-2018 touring season! Auditions: Sunday, September 10th, 7pm – 9pm (Hampton Inn and Suites, Dartmouth Crossing), Monday, September 11th, 7pm – 9pm (The Starr Room, Alderney Gate Library). Auditions MUST be pre-booked by emailing projectarctheatretour@gmail.com Please indicate your preferred date in your email. For the audition, you will be asked to: – deliver a memorized excerpt from the show. (Sides will be sent to you upon booking an audition.) – learn some simple stomp choreography (taught during the audition) – sing one a cappella verse and one chorus from a musical theatre song (prepared by you, in advance.) – tell us why you would like to be a part of project ARC. With over 130 performances at elementary and junior high schools across Nova Scotia, project ARC has increased human rights awareness while raising $21,000 for organizations like Doctors Without Borders, Free the Children, Hope for Wildlife, Phoenix Youth, and Right To Play. project ARC rehearses or performs at schools on Thursday mornings. (Cast members may choose to perform every second week.) Rehearsals start in mid-September with performances scheduled to begin in October. Cast members are usually responsible for their own transportation to and from shows, with the exception of possible road trips. Participation in project ARC is a great way to build skills and get volunteer experience. Experience with this show has helped cast members fulfill the requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, receive volunteer awards (including the Nova Scotia Human Rights Award), gain acceptance into university programs, apply for scholarships and build their resumes.
